IDEA's Formal Education Working Group invites you to attend an NCCA facilitated seminar on the consultation process regarding proposals for the new primary curriculum on Education about Religions and Beliefs (ERB) and Ethics on Tuesday 19 January, 10:30am-1pm in the IDEA offices, 6 Gardiner Row.
ERB and Ethics aims to foster a respect, understanding and empathy for members of diverse religions, beliefs and world views, with values rooted in human rights. Currently no state curriculum exists, at primary level, which specifically supports a child’s development in the areas of religions, beliefs and ethics. Ireland is quite unique in this regard. The proposal is for the development of a curriculum for ERB and Ethics for all children attending primary schools in the Republic of Ireland.
Places are limited so please RSVP by lunchtime Monday 18 January to: email@example.com
We recommend that you read the ERB and Ethics consultation paper in advance of the event.
