Event Location: IDEA Office,

This practical workshop tackles the challenge of applying 'results-based thinking' to short-term Development Education projects. Using a toolkit developed by IDEA specifically for use with the Results Table in the Irish Aid Annual Grants application form, participants will work step-by-step through each element of the table. By the end of the workshop, participants should have the skills and confidence needed to prepare an effective Results Table.

The workshop will be facilitated by Susan Gallwey, and will take place Thursday 26 October, 10:00am-1:00pm

Are we entering the golden age of activism?

Is ‘liking’ and ‘sharing’ enough to satisfy key thresholds for positive social change in a world of new social, ecological and economic extremes?

What are some of the challenges and opportunities for educational campaigners – in formal and community education contexts in Ireland and beyond?

The third session in IDEA's Conversation Series, led by Tony Daly of 80:20 Educating and Acting for a Better World, and Tom Roche of Just Forests, is an invitation to look to the past before looking to the future. We will be drawing on three decades of educational campaigning for sustainable development in Ireland through reflecting on Just Forests’ work and exploring some of the implications for how change happens based on the recent publication of 80-20 Development in an Unequal World, 7th Edition.

Start Date: 10/10/2017 End Date: 10/10/2017

Event Location:

IDEA is hosting a webinar on Measuring Impact for longer-term Development Education projects on Wednesday 11 October, 11.30am to 1:00pm. This will be facilitated by Alasdhair Collins of DP Evaluation, UK.

The webinar will look at how to carry out effective Monitoring and Evaluation for Development Education projects over 3-5 years, including:

  • Key terminology and clarifications on concepts
  • The impact chain
  • Data collection
  • Specific tools to use
  • Outcome harvesting (a new and innovative approach!)

It may be of interest to those planning multi-annual Development Education projects such as EU funded projects, Irish Aid Strategic Partnerships or building on the work of projects funded through Annual Grants. The webinar will also be relevant to practitioners implementing multi-annual projects as we will looks at examples of tools and some innovative approaches to collecting data. We also hope to have some good practice from IDEA members carrying out monitoring and evaluation of their Development Education work.

This event is free of charge.
